*** About Blowing Rocks Preserve: Blowing Rocks Preserve is a unique coastal sanctuary located on Jupiter Island, Florida. Managed by The Nature Conservancy, this preserve is named for its dramatic limestone formations along the beach, which are known to shoot ocean water up to 50 feet in the air when waves crash into them. These ancient rock formations are part of the larger Anastasia Formation, stretching from St. Augustine to Boca Raton, which is geological evidence of Florida's natural history. In addition to its geologic importance, the preserve is a critical habitat for a variety of native wildlife and offers visitors a chance to experience Florida's natural coastal ecosystems largely undisturbed by human development. Conservation efforts here focus on protecting native species and educating the public about the importance of natural habitats.
